On November 19, 2006, the Vietnam–Russia Joint Venture Bank (VRB) was officially inaugurated as a result of economic cooperation between the Governments and Central Banks of the two countries, creating opportunities to connect the two financial systems. VRB was honored to welcome President of Vietnam Nguyen Minh Triet and President of Russia Vladimir V. Putin on its opening day.

VRB is a joint venture between the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) and VTB Bank (formerly Vneshtorgbank – the Foreign Trade Bank of Russia), each contributing 49.5% of the capital, while NGS Company contributes the remaining 1% of the charter capital.

To become a leading modern commercial bank and an indispensable financial partner in the trade ecosystem connecting Vietnam, the Russian Federation, and CIS countries.

As of December 12, 2024, VRB’s charter capital exceeded USD 170.2 million, contributed by three shareholders: BIDV and VTB Bank, each holding an equal 49.5% stake of the charter capital, and Equipment and Communications Joint Stock Company (NGS), holding the remaining 1%.
